Top Ten ways I'd fix the comic Posted by Slicer April 10, 2001 10. Geoffrey St. John and the Secret Service attack Robotnik with some foolhardy plan and get annihilated. 9. Dulcy inadvertently eats Nate Morgan. Oops. 8. Mina goes to the place where all self-insertion characters go. Any plot device (including a portal to Hell opening right beneath her) will do. 7. King Max gets tossed back into the Void via another, simpler, plot device. 6. Prince Elias gets a clue. 5. Hmm, it seems like a day of strange occurrences. Okay, let's have an earthquake utterly smash the new Knothole into oblivion- but the school is destroyed in a fire caused by the quake. (This way, everyone who used to go there can do the Happy Dance around it while it roasts.) 4. Kodos and Monkey Khan kill each other. It doesn't matter how. 3. Backstory: "Break-the-fourth-wall day" comes to the Floating Island and we get to read eight pages of Knuckles knocking the crap out of Archie's editoral team, with lots and lots of gore. 2. The Sword of Acorns falls into Sonic's lap. 1. Bunnie stops dressing like a slut. ------ ROTFLOL! Posted by Sarah-Le Wheee..... I needed a laugh *has food posioning and been sick all day* o@;;;; ------ LOL! Posted by TL > 9. Dulcy inadvertently eats Nate Morgan. Oops. ^__^ LMAO! That's the funniest thing I've heard all day. ^^ ------ Re: Top Ten ways I'd fix the comic -- Commentary Posted by Daniel J. Drazen : 10. Geoffrey St. John and the Secret Service attack Robotnik with some foolhardy plan and get annihilated. Cool, but make sure Hershey survives. : 8. Mina goes to the place where all self-insertion characters go. Any plot device (including a portal to Hell opening right beneath her) will do. Have her get in line behind One-Eyed Jack Rabbit from the Icon story arc (remember him?). : 6. Prince Elias gets a clue. Hear, hear!! : 5. Hmm, it seems like a day of strange occurrences. Okay, let's have an earthquake utterly smash the new Knothole into oblivion- but the school is destroyed in a fire caused by the quake. (This way, everyone who used to go there can do the Happy Dance around it while it roasts.) Uh, Ken, you want to take credit for the "Day of Fury" plot point from the Forgotten Tribe arc here? You DO remember the "Day of Fury" ...? : 4. Kodos and Monkey Khan kill each other. It doesn't matter how. On pay-per-view! : 3. Backstory: "Break-the-fourth-wall day" comes to the Floating Island and we get to read eight pages of Knuckles knocking the crap out of Archie's editoral team, with lots and lots of gore. Uh ... nah, too easy. : 2. The Sword of Acorns falls into Sonic's lap. Point first? >Ouch!!!< ------ XD XD XD ::falls out of chair:: Posted by Rogue ::wipes tears from eyes:: I really, really needed that. Nice job, Slicer. ------ That's not the really funny part. Posted by Slicer The real funny part is that I haven't read that excuse for a comic since issue #8, and have been following reviews/scans in order to see the steady mangling of the SatAM continuity I so thoroughly enjoyed. Before you ask, I DON'T need to actually read these things. SSS#15. What's there to read? If it wasn't for Sega, I'd just suggest Sonic killing himself to end this mockery. Tails could just fly him above a volcano and let go (hell, he might dive in himself at this rate). "Why would anyone intentionally plan to hurt someone?!" indeed. He's had Robotnik/assorted villains-of-the-month between his tails for HOW long now? And yet he's given that line which makes him sound not just childlike but terminally, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome-style, comic-book-editor CLUELESS? Not to mention the assorted errors that have cropped up again and again. "Crap! Sonic, you might be mentally chained and emotionally handicapped, but I've lost my TAILS!!" Why not just hamstring the hedgehog and be done with it? They've done everything else. Someone give me a plane ticket to Mamaroneck, a Mossberg, and five minutes in the building, and I'll make all the troubles go away. ------ Posted by Double‡Cross >The real funny part is that I haven't read that excuse for a >comic since issue #8, and have been following reviews/scans >in order to see the steady mangling of the SatAM >continuity I so thoroughly enjoyed. The comic was never meant to be a continuity of SatAM in the first place... O.O ~Double‡Cross~ ------ Posted by Slicer It wasn't? Then what business did they ever have using the SatAM characters? ------ Posted by True Red They use characters and/or places from ALL Sonic universes, the only exception being SU so far--but they made that an alternate universe. Archie has the very basic SatAM storyline, but is completely its own continuity not to be considered based on anything other than itself. ------ Fair enough, but ... Posted by Daniel J. Drazen : Archie has the very basic SatAM storyline, but is completely :its own continuity not to be considered based on anything :other than itself. Which is only fair, but they WAY they've gone about it is, well, pathetic. Things are happening for no stated reason (Mina's speed) or for stupid reasons (Sonic's not caring about Tails's disappearance). I could write better Sonic stories with a paper bag over my head! ------
