Knuckles/julie Posted by 00dodge ust a question, not that I'm accusing anyone, but how on earth can you explain Julie and Knuckles marital status If their not going to be married in the 'traditional' way? Are you actualy going to put a couple haveing a baby out of wedlock in a family comic? There ARE younger readers out there. I know that there are couples today who have families with out getting married, but this just doesn't look right to me. Does anyine feel the same? I could be wrong, afterall they are echidnas....then again Lara-le and Wyn were joined in holy matromony.....hmmmmm. --- Posted by Annoyed person. on August 07, 2000 at 21:18:33: In Reply to: Knuckles/julie posted by 00dodger on August 07, 2000 at 20:55:49: I SERIOUSLY doubt Mobians are Cristian, no HOLY nothin! It's not Julie, it's Julie-Su. She HAS no last name. There is no traditional way of getting married. They aren't Europeans. --- Rebuttal... Actually, the echidnas have show that they are religious in many ways. Examples: 1.) The aurorium in Knuckles #10 2.) The Tomes (Knux #10-12) 3.) The Ancient Walkers are religious symbols of the Tomes. 4.) In the back story in Sonic #36, the Chief Magistrate called the fire ants "the humblest of God's creatures." God? Looks like they believe in something to me.... : It's not Julie, it's Julie-Su. She HAS no last name. He was just saying Julie as a way of shortening Julie-Su, like a nickname. Don't take everything so d@mn seriously... : There is no traditional way of getting married. They aren't Europeans. Are you high? I think he meant if Knuckles and Julie-Su would be married like Lara-Le and Wynmacher were. Geez, what's your problem? Lighten up... Since comics are open to everyone all over the world, using the word god or piecing any piece of religeon should be illegal, because there are lots of people who just don't want to see or hear that kind of stuff. : He was just saying Julie as a way of shortening Julie-Su, like a nickname. Don't take everything so d@mn seriously... I know a couple of koreans. Koreans & Chinese have two-part names & dispise shortenings. : Are you high? I think he meant if Knuckles and Julie-Su would be married like Lara-Le and Wynmacher were. That has absolutely nothingg to do with what she said. He never said Echidneopolitan tradition. Geez, what's your problem? Lighten up... My sister gets mad online easily. In OUR society, speaking ones mind, stating ones opinions, & getting mad or sad in public is unecceptable, so she takes it all out here. (I take mine out in chat rooms^^) --- Posted by Web When it says god it might not mean the cristian god --- True but... Posted by Tails ... the probability that it is a "type" of christian god is pretty high considering the way thier society is set up and simply the way most Mobians are in personality ie. Peaceful, Happy, and willing to share. Buddisim couldn't do that, no offense to buddists out there but Mobians are allways too happy and active to be seeking out inner peace, the meaning of life, etc They certainly couldn't be Muslims (The DL and overlanders are exceptions, but the DL worship dimitri so they dont count) As Muslims are very violent because of their "religious rules" and Mobians aren't generally violent. On a final note there are also many other types of religion such as multiple god worship (Greeks, Romans, Indians) and other god worship (ie Hinduisim with Ganesha the elephant god (I know I spelt that wrong)) Well there is my two cents, so enough from me. --- The God Question Posted by Ken Penders n Reply to: True but... posted by Tails on August 08, 2000 at 00:56:30: In actuality, the echidnas do NOT worship God such as a Christian faith would, nor any other denomination that you could think of, as they are a society totally different from humans in a number of ways. The use of religion was meant to show that SOME in their society worship a higher diety much as some do in our various cultures. I did not, and do not, believe religion shouldn't be acknowledged just because some people are uncomfortable with talking about it. It's a fact of life in every culture to some extent. I myself was raised a Catholic, but I do not subscribe to many of its teachings as an adult, as my thought processes do not lean that way. If I do go to church, it's more of a family thing than any spiritual motivation on my part. I believe there is a higher power at work. I just don't believe we can totally grasp the reality of the true concept, considering all the mysteries of life we have yet to solve. There's much more that we don't know as opposed to what we do know. As for how Knuckles and Julie-Su's relationship develops, the reality shouldn't be whether or not they have a document that states whether the relationship is legal and moral, but rather how deep is their commitment to each other. If the commitment isn't there, what good is a marriage if it ends in divorce? In many societies, it's quite obvious it takes more to have a successful relationship than just a ceremony and piece of paper stating you're now married. In any event, in no way should anyone take what is depicted in the Knuckles stories as my way of saying this is what everyone else should do with their life. If my stories make you think, great, but they shouldn't be regarded how one should conduct themselves in public. That's what you have parents and teachers for.
